Australian universities have formed various networks. In 1999, The Group of Eight was incorporated with the goal of encouraging member universities to contribute not only to generating and preserving knowledge, but also to the betterment of the country�s culture and economy. Another group is the Australian Technology Network (ATN) which is highly focused on technology and collectively educates 20% of the Australian student body. Finally, Innovative Research Universities comprises seven members which are highly involved with government policy-making on higher education and other areas.

Undergraduate universities offer a wide range of programs. For example, Notre Dame offers degrees and courses in arts and sciences, business, education, health sciences, law, medicine, philosophy, and theology. Monash University offer programs in more areas of study, including options for studying communication and media, environment and sustainability, engineering, and information technology. Monash even has options for a double degree.

Postgraduate Universities Australia

Postgraduate universities offer advance studies in numerous disciplines. UniMelb has more than 15 graduate schools with a focus on business, design, engineering, humanities, and government, among others. These graduate schools collectively offer more than a hundred courses. As another example, ANU offers a large number of postgraduate programs in areas of interest that include economics, international relations, visual arts, and mathematical sciences.
