Macquarie University is a modern, sophisticated and cosmopolitan leading provider of education in Australia which began in 1967. With over 29,000 students enrolled throughout 2003, including 5,944 international students, from over 87 countries, studying onshore and 1,026 studying offshore; Macquarie is a university which prides itself on outstanding academic achievement and high quality research.
Macquarie University is located in the suburb of North Ryde, and is set on 135 hectares of bushland which includes a sculpture park, golf driving range, two hotels and many historical, scientific and cultural museums. The Macquarie University campus houses a Research Park which is well known and regarded.
