Description: USQ Postgraduate Research Scholarships are awarded to new students of exceptional research potential undertaking a Higher Degree by Research (Doctor of Philosophy).

Annual Comment: The scholarship provides a stipend of $30,000 per year for up to 3 years, paid on a fortnightly basis. Periods of study already undertaken towards the degree will be deducted from the period of tenure. International students enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering and Surveying may also receive a top up of $3,000.

Eligibility: Applicants must: be enrolled, or be eligible to enrol, full-time in a Higher Degree by Research at the University of Southern Queensland; not previously have held an Australian Government-funded postgraduate research scholarship for more than 6 months; not be in receipt of similar funding from the Australian Government; and commence the degree by the date set by the university.
